Except the grip the spirit has on the device is much more tenuous then
before, which is where you get Instability from. The spirit is having to
fight to maintain its foothold in a piecemeal device while exerting enough
force of will to make it actually work. So, I imagine it's even possible
for regular tech spirits to "jump ship", except most of them probably don't
have the gumption to. Browsers, on the other hand, are more willful, and
are therefore more likely to go home if they don't like the way they're
being treated.
