RE: [HOE] Idea I had. want your opinion on it.

I had a similar idea to this.

My take on it was that demons, devils, angels, gods, whatever are all
essentially the same (it's just that the 'good' ones had a better
publicist... :-)

Anyway, these beings, because they have been created from 'whole cloth' (ie
created by mankind's belief and imagination) they are lacking something (ie
a soul) and while they are aware they lack something, they don't actually
know what it is. Of course, lacking a soul, these beings are somewhat
limited in creativity and imagination, but being created from 'whole cloth'
they often possess unimaginable powers and abilities (because that's what
mankind believes they can do...)

This state of affairs persists until one day, one of these beings stumbles
across a human soul that has just been released (ie the guy is dead) and
driven by their own innate lack of a soul, they consume it. The act of
consuming a soul provides this being with greater imagination, creativity
and raw power, so you can see where this is going...

Anyway, once this becomes common knowledge in the 'spirit realm' these
beings being to interfere with mortal affairs because if they know when and
where a battle it to be fought, then they can consume more and more souls...

To this end, they created the 'office' of the Avatar, one of their number
sent to earth for a full solar year to reap as many souls as possible. If
they are particularly successful, they can stay longer. The Avatar has
assumed a number of different forms, primarily human, but also as the Black
Plague, AIDS, and smallpox. Hitler was an Avatar, as were the leaders of
the North Vietnamese Army and numerous cult leaders. Oppenheimer (sp?) was
an Avatar, and the commanders of the Japanese POW camps were (at the very
least) Avatar-influenced.

If anyone is interested, I can send them the full document. If so, please
contact me off list.

Ashley.
