se, the bank isn't required to tell you you've gotten an overdraft on a
debit card untill you either reach your overdraft limit, or the end of the
month. Without overdraft protection, if you don't have the funds IN the
account, it's refused, and you don't get charged for a bounced check (at
both ends, mind you) or for the overdraft.
This is experiance talking. i had a checking account that had over 500
bucks a month directly withdrawn from it that my mother didn't bother to
tell me was coming out. Couldn't figure out why i stayed in the hole.
Thanks to her, i've ruined my credit in some stores.
