This is simply silly.
Before WotC, T$R was the hated 500 lb. gorilla of the
gaming industry.  They eventually faltered and most likely
would have gone out of business had it not been for WotC
acquiring them.

I think that too many people have watched "Wall St." and
think that Hostile acquisitions are the norm for the game
industry.
First of all. Most gaming companies are not publicly
traded.
Secondly, a company can't just declare, "I want to buy this
company" and it happens.  Granted if you throw enough money
at someone, this *might* happen, but for the acquirer this
is not a sound business decision.

From what I understand, PEG had (in my mind) a fairly easy
decision to make: Be bought or not pay its employees. 
Knowing Shane and his sense of loyalty, he did what he felt
was best fro his friends, his employees, and his games.  

I imagine that things don't *currently* seem to be working
out, but give it some time...
