RE: [HOE] Re: [DL] Quality of Downloaded books (SHANE&PEG Folk)
Its funny you say that, since after my fanboy post yesterday, I tried to
order the epitaph and adventures. first off, thier encryption certificate
had expired, and I was left with a possibly secure connection (although as
the url was http, I dont think so..). anyway, I went and bought the
products, and was given a frame based order form with http links for the
products i'd ordered (no instructions on how to download them, or what to
do if I had aproblem downloading them). the links gave me a downloadable
file called getfile.cm (or similar), which was a few bytes in length, or,
when I tried another of the links, to a page saying file
e:\web\programfiles\.....etc does not exist.....
So, I looked at the problem section. it said mail a
pinacleorders@cybergames.com (I dont remember the exact one) email
address, which I did. I also mailed orders@cybergames.com
so far, no one has responded to me, so I'm out of pocket by 9 dollars, and
dont have any way of getting the products I've paid for.
alas, as much of a fan as I am of downloadable stuff, my advice is not to
buy from thier site until they have ironed out thier teething problems.
that and talking to thier customers, but I'll give them another day as
they are probably still getting up to speed after the new year.
which reminds me. Happy New year all!
