I would imagine that weapons and equipment designed specifically for cyborgs
have channels and pathways for the SRU to work through specially installed, the
same way they're specially designed to run off of spirit energy rather than
regular electricity. You couldn't just jack in any old weapon and expect it to
be repaired; the SRU can't access it properly and even if it could, it doesn't
have specs for it so it doesn't know how to repair it. At least, that's my take
on it. Since many internal systems are supposed to be "modular" and can be
removed or reinstalled in about 15 minutes, there's certainly precident for the
SRU to be able to operate on non-integral systems.
