Me too. A lot of the history and technology for the game seems more set in
the late 1990's than the late 2070's-2081. I can understand how normal
'slugthrowers' would still be the most common, as higher-tech weapons are
more likely to break down over time, especially after an apocalypse. But
there should still be a laser rifle or two around, or a higher-tech assault
rifle (like the new over-under combo rifle the army's working on). They do
have railguns and a particle beam (I think. The one that detonates if
charged too long). but I get more of a 1990s feel from the books than 2090s.
