A simple trick that we used in our DLs campaign (don't know if it's
official or from a webpage or we made it up) is to draw a card from a full
deck (or the player action deck if a spare deck isn't available). The the
dynamite blows on that card, whether it occurs in the round it was lit or
the next round depends. 
This works for people using short fuses, if you're going for a long time
(30 sec. or something) then it's X sec. +-(1d6 - [successes on demolition
roll] secs]).
This could work for HoE grenades too as they are old or made from scrap.
Of course most grenades don't have a way to set the time delay, so no
demolitions roll.
