Well - not really. Someone without medical training is rolling unskilled
on his Smarts roll. That's pretty tough. But even the most basic first aid
training shows you techniques on how to stop bleeding (direct
pressure/tourniquet/etc).

I like what John uses for his game - that it takes a Medicine roll and an
action to reduce the wind loss by one. That way it takes time to reduce
all wind loss to none.
And successful supernatural healing does stop all bleeding.
