What I object to is your ironclad all-encompassing no-exception
statement, "Everything must happen ONSCREEN! There is no OFFSCREEN!"
I've found this statement to be fundamentally flawed in many ways. There
are appropriate situations where certain actions can be effectively
taken offscreen, and there are often signifigant advantages for doing
so.
The confusion seems to arise over the many interpretations of
"offscreen". You seemed to be upset about the idea of a PC showing up
with all this new equipment and money that appeared out of nowhere, and
then claiming something like "Oh, well, I went on a solo adventure on my
own and got this really cool Hackmaster +12 and a ring of infinite
wishes." And I agree, that is something that should be very heavily
discouraged. But that's not the only way to interpret "offscreen".
