How 'bout you do it like this:
Have the points invested in the appropriate Drivin' aptitude count sort
of like Belongin' points. When a syker invests more points in Blastin',
he gets more powers, right?
You might need to up the chart some...
Drivin' 1 - an old, unmodified motorcycle
Drivin' 2 - a modified cycle or an old economy car
Drivin' 3 - a killer bike or a regular car
Drivin' 4 - a very good car or an old, run-down rig or an ultralight
Drivin' 5 - a good rig, or a helicopter
Of course, this would only be if you took the 3 point "Road warrior"
psuedo-AB. I've always felt, though, that the points for a Robohunter
were WAY too high for what you get.
You could also take the regular Belongin' edge to simulate extra stuff
on the vehicle, and you can always take something lower on the chart if
it matches the character better. If you do so, the GM should reward you
for your sticking to character. Joe-Bob has Drivin' 5, but an old Honda
Bike that barely runs, so his GM lets it survive just about
everything...
Just an idea.
