Re: [HoE] House Rules
I have only one I can think of which came around from the debate about Grit
and how some pointed to the Ghost Dancer book and it's colored Grit. Here it
is:
Pinnacle's official ruling on Grit is that it can only be raised to 5. This
makes things difficult for adventurers who hunt the 'Bad thing out there.'
After reading several different sources I've come up with the solution for
my games. "Colored Grit." Grit will be broken down into six colors. Black,
white, green, red, yellow & gray. Each color corresponds to a certain
Horsemen, radiation or the Harrowed. All Grit has one similar effects (or
restriction) tied to them. That is that a character can have no more than 5
Grit in each color. The colors are broken down and explained bellow, in the
descriptions you'll find the color, what the Grit comes from and what the
Grit can be used for. The colors are as follows:
Black - Black is the color of Death and so comes from Survitors of Death and
his greater minions. When the character come in contact with one of Death's
minions he uses his Black Grit on all guts checks.
White - White is the color of Famine and so comes from Survitors of Famine
and his greater minions. When the character come in contact with one of
Famine's minions he uses his White Grit on all guts checks.
Yellow - Yellow is the color of Pestilence and so comes from Survitors of
Pestilence and his greater minions. When the character come in contact with
one of Pestilence's minions he uses his Yellow Grit on all guts checks.
Red - Red is the color of Blood (War) and so comes from Survitors of War and
his greater minions. When the character come in contact with one of War's
minions he uses his Red Grit on all guts checks.
Green - Green is the color of Radiation and so comes from with radiation and
it's effects. When the character come in contact with radiation of any sort
he uses his Green Grit on all guts checks. Green Grit has one other effect,
it can be used to withstand the effects of radiation. It acts as a sort-of
radiation armor.
Gray - Gray is the color of the Harrowed and can be gained if the character
comes close to death and survives. When the character comes to death and
lives (gains a critical wound to the guts or head) he gains a Gray Grit
point. Gray Grit is used to determine if a character will come back as
Harrowed. Gray Grit is the only Grit that may be raise above 5 but only in
extreme circumstances (this is gained in rituals and other forms outside the
character's grasp).
What do you think?
