Depends on the flavor of game you want. A good rule of thumb I use, and this
has probably been said a million times on this listserve [hey, I'm fairly
new, give me a break :], is Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. In that (and the
previous movie, Road Warrior) Max is elated to find ONE shotgun shell. In
the climactic scene at the end of Road Warrior he climbs out on the hood of
the truck [or the savage kid does, can't remember] to get said shell. If you
want that kind of suspense where the outcome of an adventure could hinge on
how much (or how little) ammo you have, then go for it.
