IMNSHO,
If you wanted to add something to a Junker device, you would have to use the
appropriate powers.
If you wanted to MacGuyver something, you would have to make the appropriate
knowledge and tinkerin' rolls. So adding headlights to a car take a
knowledge: electronics or Knowledge: auto mechanics roll, then an
appropriate tinkerin roll to see if you make the repair.
If you wanted to fix (make) a pair of walkie talkies, you would need to make
a ton of rolls. This (and much more complicated) devices is where the
Junker really shines.
