Umm...because the CG was programmed by a freelancer, and not checked as
thoroughly by PEG staff as a normal publication would be?
Witness: pg. 30, under "Aptitude Points": "The sum of your characters
_Knowledge_, _Smarts_, and _Cognition_ die types is the number of points
you have for Aptitudes and Edges..."
Previously, the 10 point edge limit was applied because one could only buy
edges with Hindrance points, which were *specifically* limited to 10 (and
still are). Now, however, you may use your Aptitude points to buy edges,
potentially allowing you to spend all of your starting points on Edges.
Later, on page 50, there is no stated limit to the amount of Edges you may
purchase. If there was intended to be a limit, it would have been stated-
for an example of this, see pg. 41, under "Hindrances". There we find the
following clause: "You can take up to 10 points in Hindrances during
character creation."
The character generator, IIRC, does *not* allow you to buy Edges with the
starting Aptitude points, which would explain the discrepancy.
