Re: [HoE] junker car

A (typical) junk gun works by magnetic attraction/repulsion. The feeder end attracts bits of metal,
which are chopped into tinier, sharp bits of metal, which are charged and forced out of the barrel
in a Gauss Rifle-kind of way. There's also an opening to the ammo hopper so you can feed in larger
pieces of metal than can be sucked through the tube.
So, there's not much problem for your junker PC picking up rabbits, unless they're made out of
metal. If they are, then he's in enough trouble just for passing over them (HI Automaton
Rabbits?). However, you must also think about how much scrap metal he'd be running over in the
first place. Not very much, I'd be willing to wager. Of course, you could say there's metal bits
all over, but that would mean bad things for everyone else driving on the roads.
If I wanted a junk gun on a car, I wouldn't put it on a Mustang, I'd put it on something
off-roadable with heavily armored tires. That way, I could drive off-road (where bits of metal are
probably more common) to reload the gun.
Of course, you could always use the hand-load option and a small cutting torch to dispose of some of
those wrecks that line the highways, or to remove the evidence when you happen to bust up a
road-ganger's ride.
