I don't know all the details, to be honest (I wasn't HOE Brand Manager at 
the time), but I don't think it's anything quite so sinister. My 
understanding is that he simply couldn't do the book after all, so we 
passed the job on to another author (well, authors, actually). Sometimes 
these things happen...

The name is The Last Crusaders. Shane wrote it, and as usual for him it's 
excellent.
