Close. The teacher gave both of his star pupils, Jack Whatley, and
Clayton Mansfield scalpels upon graduation. Both scalpels are cursed and
turn their owners into murderous beasts of men. Clayon Mansfield was a
field surgeon at Gettysburg and as the reckonering was unleashed, the
scalpel overpowered him and he became "the Butcher" until he is taken
down by Ronana Lynch and Hank Ketchum in "Independance Day" (or by your
posse) After that the scalpel is lost and makes its way to City o' Gloom
where it is found by a mean nasty ghost rock miner. "the Butcher " arises
again ,but this time is being called "Black Hands". Jack on the other
hand has a stronger will than Clayton and has resisted to power of his
own scalpel so far. After graduating medical school he went to england to
establish his own practice. He recently has come back to America to help
out a cousin (an other Whatley) in Gomorra. His cosuin is almost better,
but he's mostly staying because he has a thing for another cousin (hey,
these are Whatleys....) however should something happen to break his
spirits (such as her rejecting him, or here taking another lover, or her
dying) the dispirited surgeon will return to Merry Old England and make
it not so merry.....
