RE: [DL] Grit & shooting
I'd like to be able to model the advantage of coolness under fire - something to do with Guts & Grit and a higher base TN when you are getting shot at. Maybe a simple Guts check with a penalty to your TN if you fail it.
Guts check for coolness under fire:
TN 5 - 1 opponent
TN 7 - Outnumbered
TN 9 - Bedlam
Each raise gives -1 to your TN, failure gives -2, Bust & you panic.

Yeah - maybe that should only apply to insane firefights with the air full of lead, 7 with -1 per 2 Grit, perhaps.

Then you'd get Grit 5 and end up with a TN of 2. If you did this, 9-Grit
would be much better. That way a grizzled veteran would have a 1-point TN
edge over standard rules, but it wouldn't be anything unbalancing. Of
course, you'd also have the problem of characters with NO Grit frequently
not hitting anything.
