Funny this, I'm a guy and I get a kick of out playing saloon gals. Sure, my
first PC is always the 'dark and brooding' hero type and would likely be a
gunslinger in DL. But that's cause I'm a GM 99% of the time and, dang it, I
don't get to play!
But after that, the saloon gal has a certain apeal in dead lands. I'm a fan
of party manipulation, and running behind the other fighter type and
cowering in fear to get them to sacrifice themselves is a secret love of
mine. That and all the over acting I could induldge in... warms the cockles
of my cruel GM heart.
And with the right selection of social skills, the archetype isn't totaly
useless either. Saloon gals pick up all sorts of unsavory habits from
filtchin to persuadin folk to handling oneself in a barbrawl (just remeber,
smash the bottle over the cowpokes head as you scream in abject horror and
call them a cad). And when the rest of the party is a bunch of trigger happy
fools, it's good to be able to seduc... er talk your way out of that noose.
