my group has me and 2 chicks
and 5 guys

we like to play the cool ones ;)
i like to play something different every time i play
so i dont have a set type

one of the chicks always plays the standard beautiful babe
the other plays the odd characters hehe

hell yeah baby!

i run a mean game of cthulhu and d&d too
you name it, i will run it :)

>5. What are the playing styles of the women out there?

well one chick is the standard plays the good looking babe character
she plays cause her husband does i think
i dont see her playing if he wasnt
so we dont give her anything to complex rules wise to play
simple combat character works for her
and she prefers rolling dice to roleplaying i think

the other chick plays cause her husband does but she met him gaming
so she plays to play
and she plays variety too
we usually switch off...if she plays the uber combat goddess i play a more
intellectual magical caster type
she is probably the middle line...both combat and puzzles

i am not sure my style
depends on my character to be honest
i do it all
but i think i run games so much that when i can actually play it is a nice
change of pace
i am much more the role player, solve the puzzle, talk my way out of it kind
of gamer :)
but that is more fun to me than rolling

i find that when i run the game i am involved and paying attention
when i play i get distracted in the down time
but one of the chick players had babies in nov
so now there is plenty to keep us all occupied and playing all night long :)

for the last 10 years or so i have had more than just me as the chick in the
group
so i am used to it

last year at gencon, i had 8 players in a cthulhu game and they were all
chicks
and i had a mix of all types
it was a blast :)
