Re: [DL] Who plays Injuns?

My favorite character of all time in Deadlands was my Indian character. He was caught right in the middle of the old ways vows and the use of technology. He worked for a bounty hunter that way he could kill whites which he didn't particularly like and he would buy weapons for the tribe only to see them get traded for blankets and other things. The Marshal did an excellent job of handling the turmoil that the Indians must have been in. We even did a flashback module that explained my worst nightmares which was being killed by a pack of evil wolfs (don't remember there name) which as a youth almost killed me and killed my brother. I also almost killed a bully by accident in a game of hockey or whatever the field sport was and he went on to be my enemy, kidnapped my wife and child, etc. Seems that the bully became a member of the Raven and had to be stopped.

Anyway, best character ever played for Weird West and longest running game for it we played.

Traveled with a mad scientist with a flame thrower always catching himself on fire, lol. A Gunslinger bounty hunter, and a kid who was a girl pretending to be a boy.

Back in the days..........

Subject: [DL] Who plays Injuns?

Here's my question, how many people play Native Americans or have Native
American characters in their game?

It just seems that we don't often hear about them, and I was wondering about
their popularity.  If you don't play Injuns, is there any particular reason?

Thanks!

"You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Ghost Rock, son. Nothing else in the
world smells like that. I love the smell of ghost rock in the morning. You
know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over
I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' Yank body. The
smell, you know that sulphurous smell, the whole hill. Smelled like...
victory. Someday this war's gonna end..."
