Doc had a sister that died young, so he was essentially an only child. 
 Now as for children of Doc, no clue.  If he had children they were not 
documented.  I'm sure if he and Kate had children together it would have 
been written someplace.  So the kid from school could not be direct 
decendant from Doc.  At best the kid would have to have been from one of 
Doc's cousin's line.  Although I'm willing to bet that the kid was 
making it up.
