Re: [DL] Tombstone vs. Wyatt Earp

My 2 cents...

I enjoy both movies very much for different reasons. I prefer Wyatt
Earp because it is much more historically accurate than Tombstone. For
the same reason I like Quaid's portrayal of Doc over that of Kilmer's.

Quaid's Doc was more of a look into his character and actually got the
point across that Doc had a fiery temper and was ready to throw down at
the drop of a hat. Kilmer cool, suave, and dime novel worthy. They
both did a good job just in different ways. Both looked like they were
dying but Kilmer was just too 'meaty' to be somebody dying of TB.

I like Russel as Earp better, he even looks like Wyatt. Too many of
Costner's scenes he was way to cardboard. I did like Costner's Wyatt
diffusing a lynch mob though.

Both movies had the Ringo problem.... He was no were near Wyatt or Doc
when he died, but Ringo legend is too intertwined in the Holliday-Earp
legend. Stephen Lang's Ike was the best I have ever seen though. When
talking with Lang on the shoot of Gods and Generals he said that Ike was
one of his favorite roles.

these are just my opinions...
