Re: [DL] module/scenario, timeline...wasGame planning...
To answer the earlier question re game planning, i've run a fairly free form
campaign for almost three years now (the three years have included some
notable breaks from play of up to 3-6 months at a time). I've played almost
entirely pre-generated scenarios but have modified each one to suit the
posse. I'm also lucky to have some very inventive character
backgrounds/colourful enemies which mean some sessions can be almost
entirely player driven with each of them setting their own agendas. Have
even had the group split in three for a short while and had three
independent pbem sessions ongoing until they all re-grouped again.
As for actual module/scenario timlelines, if memory serves, we kicked off
with On hallowed ground up in the Rockies before the group set off south
taking in a couple of web site adventures (the horse eater and all that
glitters, the latter being a particularly fine scenario), they then had some
fun in Dodge in Independence Day (we all had a lot of fun with that one)
before spending an extended period around the Mississpi and New Orleans.
(scenarios here included bloody old muddy, skinners and the excellent,
trouble a brewin). Used a lot of the scenarios from the peg source books to
piece all the above together.
Finally they all decided to go seperate ways for the best part of a year
before all regrouping in Boston and catching a train back west together.
After some eventful stops and the successful conclusion to Pass the salt
(scenario provided with The Great Maze) we're about to start Ghostbusters.
The above has worked very well for my posse but a lot will come down to gm
preferences, all I will say is that the Peg scenarios i've played have been
almost uniformly superb, well written and inventive, much better than the
vast majority of pre-written scenarios for other systems available out
there, in fact the only ones which I think would come close are some of the
old warhammer fantasy roleplay scenarios...but that is o course another (off
topic) story all together
Cheers
Ben
