[DL] Hole Card & Card Sharp

I got a quick question concerning both of these hexes. Actually, it's more
clarification than questions.
It is my understanding that when either of these hexes are cast the cards
that magically appear in the Hucksters hands solidify and remain for the
duration of the hex. When the Huckster wants to use the cards to attack
(Card Sharp) or defend (Hole Card) he actually throws the solidified card at
the target.
So, would I be correct in assuming that when the huckster casts either hex
he must have a hand free. Also, when the huckster uses the cards,
specifically for Hole Card, he must still be holding those cards?
