Reflecting on how this game was described, could it hurt?

 Sounds more like something that a child might do, that breaks the toy of
 another kind just for the sake of haveing something broke.
 I always defended roleplaying to outsiders as a way to learn to cope with
 conflict (since the reason, "hey, it's fun!" doesn't seem to be enough for
 some people).

Yeah, probably. But sometimes, the best example of foolish behavior is to 
mirror it. and hey, if he somehow does get past whatever 
necronimicon-powerarmor-magical shields that the other characters migh have, 
it'd put the shoe on the other foot. 

but either way, in this situation the person leaving is the loser either way- 
because he no longer has a game group. 

but then, as a village idiot, maybe I just think of things differently.
