From what I understood from reading your story, I'd say your Marshal is
guilty of one of the major sins for Marshals: Favouritism. 

Marshal has to be fair. Fair, as in equal amount of harassment for each
player. If he wants his PCs to have hard time, that should apply to each
of them. And vice versa. As is with the suitable power level for
characters: If one is a demigod, the rest of them shoul be too, or the
game's structure and plot should be such, that the player with the super
character would not be dominating the game at the other player's expenses.

Hope you told them what you felt like, especially the Marshal. You see, I
reckon he (or perhaps, they) owe you an apology and should fix things. If
not, good riddance.

Even the changing of the gaming night without telling or the spilling of
beans about your characters alone are something I would've been pissed
about.

Sheesh..
