Re: [DL] AAAARRRGGGHHH! Or....
tell your friends to try another distributor for gaming, like alliance..
they aren't by any means perfect.. but are better than diamond. i was told
this by my friend at the comic store that i buy from and game at...when the
boss is around he blames the distributors.. but, after the boss leaves, he
says; the boss didn't want me to order this week, too mush spent on comics,
or he says not enuff gaming to place an order. we don't have enuff for the
minimum shipment.

Matt's Lone Stars Lamentations: A short rant by Matt (that's me)
My friends, Nicole and Thom, own a comic book store, from which I all of my
comic book merchandise. They order through Diamond Distribution. Now, in
their monthly catalog, Diamond also solicits various other merchandise,
including RPG's. In fact, when my friends first opened the store, I ordered
the PEG books Smith & Robards and Book o' the Dead through Diamond's
backlist (previously released merchandise in Diamond's warehouse) with no
problem. That was in the late fall of 2000.
Fast forward to the present. I let my friends now as soon as the Previews
(Diamond's catalog) that solicited Lone Stars came out that I wanted it.
They placed the order. Now, when all the other distributors that work with
PEG shipped Lone Stars on time, Diamond did not ship Lone Stars. This was to
be expected (Diamond kinda sucks). A few weeks goes by, still no Lone Stars.
Yesterday, my friends call up their Diamond representative. They said that
all orders for Lone Stars could either be cancelled or reordered, due to
Diamond not recieving any copies of Lone Stars. *Rage building* Diamond's
excuse? They claim Pinnacle didn't send them any. Now this might be
reasonable, if they hadn't used that same *@!#ing excuse when I tried to
order Deadlands books from their backlist a few months ago, items which,
being on their backlist, shouldn't have needed to get anything from PEG in
the first place. *RAGE BUILDING* Not to mention the fact that when I asked
Shane on this listserv about how long it would take to ship through Diamond,
he made no indication that Diamond wasn't getting any copies, and I tend to
trust Shane to know his business.
Ahem...
AAARRRRGGGHH!!! $%#!ing Diamond! Diddly ding-dong crap! I don't want to take
business away from my friends, but damn! Come Friday, I'm going to go to a
rival comic store that has a copy of Lone Stars and buy it. This is freaking
ridiculous. Diamond couldn't have mentioned this a few weeks ago? Here I am,
foolishly hoping that each new Wednesday (new book day) would bring my copy
of Lone Stars, but no! I'm also willing to bet I ain't gonna be seeing
Diamond ship the Lost Colony stuff I ordered either.
Man, Diamond sucks.
