well after thinking this thru, i've decided to create this super soldier and
formula..
i've starting a new campaign. 1 of the players is setting up a texas ranger.
only 2 players in the group have played deadlands b4, the other 3 are newbs.
:-))
the ranger is 1 of the newbs.. so, since he's both new as a player and a
ranger, he's gonna have a mentor; an older ranger he can wire for advice, so
ta speak.. who is also supposed to show him around the territory abit; and
call fer help.. if he can admit he needs help from the mentor.
the mentor, will be a veteran of the west and a hardened ranger..i'm gonna
call him john walker...heheh. he's gonna use stuff from law dawgs and
anything good from the new ranger book, if my local store ever gets it in
for me.
their 1st adventure is 1 of the downloads from penics' site. the 1 with the
train and MS and his 'hand'. the newb will meet him at the end of the
scenario. and after a few meetings and calls for advice.. a bond, hopefully
will form, between student and teacher...
then, being 1 of the oldest, and most experienced rangers; walker will get
called back to the main ranger HQ,which i gather is in texas. he'll ask
newb to keep an eye on his territory for a while while he's gone..what the
heck walker watched both, and he trained newb, so newb shouldn't have too
much problem... he is after all a ranger..
at the HQ, walker becomes the super soldier...hehehe.. for a short period of
time..
walkers return trip will be the hex files..from the anthology... hehehe..
guess who's gonna ask for an escort and backup for the trip.. walker and the
newb will be it, and his posse if he trusts them..[which he should]
well ole walker's gonna be the ranger in the story.. and the 'outcome' of
the story is what affects the...problem with the serum... hehehe
newb gonna have to bring walker, his mentor back to ranger HQ. so they can
try to put humpty back together again..... after some misadventure, they'll
make it.
well, walkers gonna start having problems, and end up either escaping HQ or
be, deemed fit for duty and return 'home' to his territory. this part
depends on how well things are going in the campaign and story by then.
if i do the 1st part, newbs gonna have to bring in the 'rogue'. if it's the
2nd.. which i'm hoping for, things are gonna happen to walker.. and HQ will
hear.. newb will be sent to 'check' on walker and if need be, if things are
confirmed.. he'll have to take walker down..the ole 'student has to beat the
teacher' ploy....
and then that'll be fun...
comments, suggestions, ideas?
