I don't have HOE. Been meaning to get it, but alas, I'm not as rich as I
wish to be...
I agree. As presented, the AB's get their Mojo from the hunting grounds, but
the means by which it's granted is totaly different and not always
incompatable.
Shamans have the most 'pure' access as their powers come from nature
spirits. Not manitou, but spirits. This is stated in Ghost Dancers. Nothing
prevents a Shaman from courting Manitou, other then the Spirits will snub
them. Hence the problem a Harrowed Shaman has.
Blessed get their power from the hunting grounds, but it's channeled by a
'Higher Power' that is neither Spirit or Manitou. Nothing prevents this
'Higher Power' from granting it's mojo to any one it feels like as long as
the recipient has faith in said power. That Higher Power may have pretty
strict guide lines to follow, and consortin' with demons is usually high up
on the list ('dem bein' the enemy and all that), but it's not totaly out of
the question. Shamans are Blessed aren't compatable due to the faith issue.
You can only have faith in one higher power. Shamans have faith in the
Spirits, Blessed in what ever...
MS & Hucksters get their mojo from the dark side. They deal with the devil
directly. Hucksters know better and MS are oblivious of the fact. But
they're compatable with each other, and may well be compatable with a
'Higher Power' granting power of it's own. Same big pool, the hunting
grounds, but different folks granting it.
Chi users (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have easy access to the chi user
books) draw the power from the hunting grounds on their own. Nothing rules
out them getting power from another source such as a 'Higher Power' granting
it or them taking it from a Manitou or Nature Spirit.
The biggest limiting factor is no AB is easy to learn (and I don't mean
Point wise). They're life time achievement sorts of things that entire world
views are built out of. But in rare instances they do come together.
And yes, a character like this may well be munchkin as hell. But whats
really wrong with a Huckster forsakin' his evil ways and finding God?
Sorry for bein' long winded, just wanted to share my rational. BTW, correct
me if there is somethin' in DL that contradicts this outlook.

... armchair philosophers? Where are they supposed to do it? "Descarte leapt
across the ditch as the bullets buzzed past his ears like angry wasps - 'If
all I can know is the product of my own perceptions,' he thought as he
punched another Hussar in the throat, 'then all I can say with any
confidence is "I think, therefore I am." ' Turning, he grabbed the Prussian
colonel's cap and wrenched down over his ears, tossing him back into the
trench now filled with twisted corpses." --Radical Athority (rpg.net)
