BUT YOU CAN SEE IT ON THE COVER ANYWAY, SO WHY AM I BOTHERING?





. . . I am currently running Dead Presidents, and as soon as my players
saw the cover, they have been waiting to be captured.  (I failed my
bluff role when I told them it was a picture of the party capturing the
bad guys).   This almost became tragic when they ran into the
dopplegangers and after the first round when 1/2 the party became
incapacitated but not dead, one of the players said, "Oh!  this must be
where we get captured, we shouldn't waste our chips and just let them
take us."   Ooops.    Good thing they decided it was their duty to
resist at all costs.    Also, the very name of the adventure gives too
much away.    The players have assumed that Davis is harrowed from the
beginning simply from title.  Even though it isn't completely accurate,
it's close enough to spoil some of the surprise.
