Actually, from talking to a friend who is a fireman, ammunion doesn't cook
off like the movies show. The lead melts before the powder explodes. The
powder burns, but doesn't explode and the lead is not projected.
Muzzle flare would definitely not set them off. The powder is not exposed,
so it is not that easy to set off. Generally ammunition is not easy to set
off. The powder is covered. You could even throw them in a blast furnace,
but all you would get is melted shells and a brief flash of burning powder.
Sorry, no shrapnel bomb.
