Not really, red herrings can be a double edged sword
for the Marshal as last nights game showed me.
I had an adventure all planned, the posse was to leave
town and rescue some people who they've been meaning
to rescue for the past couple of adventures ... but
they got sidetracked once again. I'm not even sure
how they ended up on the thread they did, but the
whole session was improv. Luckily I had enough town
notes that I could wing it.
Anyway .. as a result it looks like a big battle is
brewing, a really big battle.
Question: Has anyone taken a regular posse, and then
threw them into a High Noon or Great Rail Wars
scenario? Give them a bunch of mooks (like 30 or so),
and send them against a big army?
In this case, it looks like that would be the best
situation to try (plus it might cheer the posse up a
bit and make them feel they final accomplish
something, since I've been torturing them for so long
... burning down where they stay, chasing them with
demons, running them in circles, etc).
I've been meaning to pick up the GRW rules, but
there's no way they'll get to me by this Saturday (I'm
still waiting on minis I ordered a while back .. I'm
not complaining, I got the rest of my shipment, and an
out-of-stock notice on the minis .. I have pleanty of
others so it's all cool).
I do have all of the High Noon rules, except for
Apendex G (Army lists). I was thinking of making
stuff up for this battle, but it would be nice to have
that Apendex. I notice it's no longer available on
Pinnacles site. Is it still available for download?
Or has it been discontinued because of GRWs release?
