This answer seems a tad petulant to me. Perhaps not rude per se.

We as a list humble apologize that we were unable to meet your needs
immediately and in a complete manner. After all, we're only here to meet
YOUR needs!
What is it about our society today that produces a plethora of people who
HAVE to have the answer NOW and it has to be personally tailored and
DELIVERED (and why haven't I gotten it yet?)?
If you don't like Mom's answer, often times asking Dad isn't going to get
you a better answer. Or is it? (never worked for me ... "What did your
Mother say?")

While it may be easier to ask the question again it produces a feature of
the list which I personally find annoying. I've been here a number of years
and so I've seen quite a few discussions. Most are of little or no interest
and I delete them out of hand. Some few are PDF (pretty damn funny) and I
enjoy them. Some few are of game interest and I keep them.
However I see the same questions again and again and again and again in a
(very tedious) cycle. It gets old. However I firmly believe what my father
(who was a teacher for 25 years) taught me when he said there was no such
thing as a stupid question. So I don't necessarily want to discourage
anyone from asking questions. I don't know that I've heard the question
before until you ask it.
However I usually try to find out the answer to any question I have before I
ask it in public. Just in case the answer is obvious. So if I find it
before I ask, I won't look like a fool in public (it happens enough
otherwise I don't need to try).
Just MHO (well perhaps not so humble).
