I would strongly suggest that you encourage them to put some of that hard
earned Bounty into guts and (if necessary) Spirit die type.
All it takes is one bad failure on the Scairt table to kill a character. I
know this from experience - we had a character in our posse nearly die from
fright - literally.
It sounds like you have the atmosphere down, and the dark, scary house is a
good intro to the horror aspect of DL, however, if they have little-to-no
Guts skill, and/or a really low Spirit die type, their best is allocating
Bounty to changing that.
