This is about as good an estimate as any. Considering that the largest
denomination of Confederate coin was .50, your guess is as good as any.
Make it as heavy or light as you need for the story.
They did have 5 and 20 coins in the planning, but they never minted any (in
rl that is).
I would say a Double Eagle (20 dollars) weighs about 1 oz, using that weight
and denomination, it would weight about 50lbs.
If you need it heavier, make it with smaller coins, or mix em up.
