Thats true many cases in the early 1900's rifle as well were made of steel,
i have quite a few military surplus rounds that are made like this. Shotgun
rounds of any metal or plastic can be reloaded as ther is no case sizing
neeed, Rifle and pistol on the other hand are mad to much tighter
tolerances and require soft metal for reloading purposes, thus the brass,
stell cartridges are not reloadable.
