First off.... Add in SPOILERS FOR JEFF TOLLE'S POSSE
That means you Bristol, or your Manitou head may get onery on ya.
Well,
I am currently working on this information for my posse - any specific questions?
There is not too much happening in Oz during the 1870 decade.
Some specific real life historical information about this time. (Followed by my DL changes in brackets)
Right before the reckoning there was a massive gold rush (In my game it was replaced by..... you guessed it)
Transportation was OVER by 1877 except for some to Western Australia. (A skrimish between the Irish and the British made the brits change thier mind. They now ship people in droves to the Antipodes. Couple that with the workings of Famine 'causing a rise in criminal activity. The Australians are highly incensed by this turn of events, and the protests are violent and often bloody.) Remember that the real reason for Transportation was that English judges were being LEINIENT or so they thought.
The terrifying secondary colonies where Re-peat O-fenders are sent (Well Oh-Kay then, Hi) are open again for business. The especially deadly Norfolk Island is now run by a man claiming to be Captain William Bligh - former govenor of the NSW colonies.
An Uprising of disgruntled minors was laid to rest with extreme violence.
Cobb and Co started mainly as a transportation company (has grown to become a Practitioner of the New Science. I am not sure if I want to include a Yahoo Serious character here - prolly too silly) They are reponsable for the invention of refigeration using freon - this was actually an Australian invention. (An unscrupulous Scientist has begun shipping back corpses of abominations for his Californian collegues in Gommorah to study)
There is no major war (Australia is more the land of Famine, Pestilence and Death.) However there are constant bloody skirmishes between the propped up British Military and Magistrates, the colonists / convicts and the Aboriginals. Yes, there is no WAR, but there are many fatal battles.
Ned Kelly, notorious bushranger, is alive and tempting colonists and convicts to go to the bush to get fair treatment where they die of hunger or eat thier companions. IRL he dies in late 1877 saying "Such is Life" as he is hung.
This is just a start I have more - just ask for specifics. I am getting ready to put it on the web. This will take a while however.
Send me a note off list for more info.
