[DL]deadlanders posse spoilers keep out

my posse were attacked by bandits the other session, and managed to kill 5 of them and capture 2. they rode into town with them and handed them over to the sherrif, and were amazed when the law man asked for the bandits horses and equipment. but they are ours now cried the posse,nope said the sherrif they still belong to the outlaws, if you wish to claim anything wait two weeks for the circuit judge and put in a claim for any compensation at the trial.
so my question is how much would they get for being attacked by the outlaws? a couple of outfits were damaged by bullet holes, and that is about it.
and what is the sentance the two bandits are looking at? 20 years, or hanging?
