RE: [DL] Is the Collegium useful?
-----Original Message-----
I'm rounding out my Deadlands collection, and I'm wondering how much milage
people got out of "The Collegium." I don't play Doomtown, I don't have
Doomtown or Bust, and I don't usually uset he Maze as a setting. How useful
is it for Mad Scientists in general?
--------------------------
The MS in my posse has found it very useful -- both as a source of ideas for
him to build (If he wants to find the manitou's ideas, I have no problem
with it....) and as a way to think about how to integrate the "theory" part
of an invention into the process.
That being said, he ended up pulling four of a kind while designing a simple
conversion of his steam wagon to allow it to become amphibious. The rear
wheels spreading fins and driving through the water a la WWII amphibious
craft didn't seem good enough to the manitou. He'll now be rerouting the
steam from his ghost-rock engine into water jets located near the drive
train.
Hope this helps.
