Same here. Wizkids hit on a Good Thing (tm) with the mage Knight idea.
Little plastic figures that are already painted, collectible set up, et
cetera. Distributors here can't keep them in stock and neither can the
stores.

That's exactly what I did for DnD. They work really well, and have
nowhere near the cost or time involvement of regular minis. Figure $50
buys 10 unpainted miniatures. Fifty bucks buys 40 Mage Knights, ready to
go out of the box.
