 Well, a character who comes back harrowed is still in the game, so I reckon
 saying he'd died is just a matter of semantics.  Proper dead is dead forever.

 I guess "eaten" wasn't the correct term.  The beastie at the end of All
 That Shimmers is a woobly Evil From Beyond The Veil not fully manifested
 in our world.  So it absorbed a couple of people, killing them dead, but
 without all the chewing and digestion action.  When it was destroyed, the
 bodies inside fell out again, and the surviving characters, not knowing if
 he was beyond rescue or not, hauled him out of the cave and gave him a
 decent burial.  Their mistake...
