[DL] Hexslinger Mentor
Someone mentioned having the character face down one of his uncle's
killers, and having him plead for his life at the last minute. Besides
the fact that most people who die in combats that I've experienced die in
about 3 seconds, I think there's a better angle to approach this from.
Have the character run into an old hexslinger. Maybe the old man finds
him because he knows what to look for, and even if the kid can hide it
from the local yokels, he can't hide it from an old hand. The old man
is, in fact, the one who killed the uncle, but the kid doesn't recognize
him, and vice versa. Wait until the kid has a friendship going with the
old man to drop the bomb on him. Or, if the kid isn't picking up, have
the old man realize what's what first. Then the kid has to get away or
convince the old man that he's not a threat. Good Roleplaying situations
should abound from that scenario.
