[DL] Scart Table

This may seem a silly question, but I've re-read the text a few times and
can't seem to make out what I should be doing.

On a failed Guts check, the Marshal is supposed to roll on the Scart table
a specific amount of dice (1d6-6d6 I think are the ranges).  It states to
count Aces in this roll, and the table goes up to 36.  All well and good
so far.

The question is: do I add the dice together (as in a damage roll) AND
count Aces, or is it treated like a statistic or other test, where only
the highest die result counts with aces?
