Hm, well I have not played DL much, but from a rules stand point I think
they are about even, the mechanics are very similar.
Now from an role-playing stand point, I think in BNW it is more often more
dangerous, let me explain. When you see a Hangin' Judge or a Mojave rattler,
you know you are in trouble, and it's gonna hurt. But in BNW, when a Primer
or Defiant walks up, who knows what he is capable of. (now your GM can use
lots of things in DL that are more dangerous then they appear, but you have
a better idea of where you stand against most opponent in DL, where as in
BNW, a Primer Gunner, Blaster, Hound and Healer all look about the same,
until the fight goes down.)
I think it is easier to get in over your head in BNW, due to the fact that
the powers, are not noticeable until you use them, while in DL most things
are closer in power to what they appear like (of course their are
exceptions, but they will be far less likely to cross your path then the
various powers in BNW, assuming both are run close to the background). now
DL is a much more dangerous world, but it is easier to avoid "monsters" in
DL then Blasters in BNW, for the most part.
For example, take two NPC's, make them same gender, identical twins, one a
blaster, one a scrapper. Never have them in the same place together (for a
while), then when the PC's see them, you would want to shoot at the
scrapper, and stay away from him, while the blaster you want to stay out of
sight of, and or go beat him down. Now imagine a PC who runs up to the guy
to beat him, then get the stuffing beat out of him as you realize he is the
scrapper, or you say fly above him and taunt the "scrapper" only to get shot
by a blaster. Course the same could be done in DL with some things, but once
you see something do a thing in DL, it usually teaches you lesson, while in
BNW, each new Delta added could be different, while appearing no more
dangerous then the last. Uh, getting long here you get the idea, I'll zipit
now...
But again rule wise I think they are both very close.
