where you get into shades of gray is that the bargainers, weather they want 
to admit it or not are being used.

demons don't just grant powers for no reason their is a lot more going on 
than the bargainers know or want to admit.

one point where it shows is the bargainers opinion of demon cults. when you 
read it they discount these guy as mostly foolish mortals with no real link 
to demons. but look at twist in a bargain he made he has to lead a bunch of 
demon cultist. if these cults have no connection to demons why would a demon 
ask this of him.

there definitely a lot of stuff that we have yet had revealed to us and will 
have to wait for the covenant book
