Re: [BNW] Shrinker

F=M*A and is applied over an area. so while two characters may have the same
mass and acceleration, the tranfer of force would be over a much smaller
area. Landing on your feet for a "normal" person (i'm using my feet and i
may not be truly normal. grin)would spread the force over about 72 square
inches. so if you start scaling that down, you start multiplying the force
per square inch applied by the same ratio. 1/2 size equals 2 times more
force per square inch. 1/4 is four times. 1/8 is eight times. I would press
down normally about 3 1/2 lbs per square inch. If I was 1/8th size. That
would be 28 lbs per square inch (and that is just standing there). Running,
jumping, etc. would seriously test the tensile strength of a lot of objects.
They get around the fact that such force would break your own bones by
saying they get more dense. So I won't argue that. But think of the effect
on other objects. He should be able to stomp or punch and penetrate most
things. I can dent pretty think sheet metal with a punch, now multiply that
force by a factor of 8 (since it is being applied over an area 1/8 as big).
Ouch.
