Hi all!

This is basicly a call for some help on brainstorming. As I mentioned in a 
previous post, I have managed to keep my campagin from reaching Dec 31, 1999 
yet and plan to have it be an event. A big event. Kennedy is comming to 
Cresent City to give a speach before the ball drops. The tricky bits:

1) Delta Prime is already on alert. The major park where the speach is going 
to be given is going to have 8 pillars set up, in pairs surrouinding the 
area in the park. Inside the columns are going to be power dampner 
machinery, to keep Defiance Deltas powerless. Armourgeddons with the 
Dampners will be security, as well as Primers mingling in case Something Bad 
Happens(TM).

2) Word that Kennedy is comming is set to be announced December 1st.

Minor notes for my versoin of BNW before we continue:
I have decided that DP regards Hounds (Deltas who can sense Deltas) as a 
class they need to keep secret. They move through DP in their own way, and 
work with Snuffers as a Secret Police type group that ferrets out Defiants 
in their Reg IDs and keeps an eye on DP as well.

I also assume there are underground meeting places for the Defiance, sort of 
like underground clubs. The various "cells" of the Defiance meet and mingle 
here to exchange info that they cannot trust to the net, make plans for the 
future and meet with potental recruits. People wishing to join the Defiance 
are directed to one of these, depending on how trustworthy the Defiance 
thinks the person is. Each is guarded by the Deltas in the bar, as well as 
hidden explosives which can have dead man switches or traps thought up by 
Geniuses and have several escape routes.

Game time, it is late Nov, around the 19th. Word that JFK is comming has 
already been leaked to the Defiance. A major Delta Warrior team from New 
York called Fear Factory has come to Cresent to take advantage of this 
golden opprotunity. They have made a call to arms to other Defiance members 
about JFK's presence at the New Years celebration, and word of the event is 
spreading through the Defiance like wildfire.

Truth, and the PCs, are worried and cautious, beliving it to be some sort of 
trap. Truth is urging Defiance members to avoid the celebration on the 
public web page, but wants to know what JFK is up to.

The PCs have managed to reason with Fear Factory and gotten them to agree 
that it is possibly a trap and not go in guns blazing to the area, but they 
still plan to be there and strike if the opprotunity surfaces.

Complications:

JFK is up to something, but I haven't defined it completly yet and wanted to 
get some feedback. My thoughts so far are that:

The Hounds and Snuffers are going to be moving through the crowd secretly 
with shielders, and will be looking for Deltas among the crowd. Perhaps they 
are also going to snuff Primers so they cannot stop what happens? I know 
part of the plan is for the Dampners to fail  at a dramatic moment in the 
speach. :>

My possible ideas are that JFK wants to push through some new law. A big 
one. As one PC noted to Fear Factory "JFK only needed two deaths to push 
through Martial Law. What does he need done that requires a massacre?" The 
immediate thought is some gun control, but that's too easy. Another thought 
is he wants to change the leadership in DP around some. I think there are a 
lot of decent people in DP still who guide it and JFK wants them out. People 
like Patriot was, or who remember what the country used to be like. Defiance 
sympathizers who think that you need to work within the system to change 
things. I can't think of harsher laws against unregistered Deltas, so 
something else then.

Or does he want a war? Pin this on Ilsa Delta so he can launch a strike 
against them? Or a good old fasiond Commie menace? That ones harder since 
they have already proven willing to launch a nuclear strike, which is a big 
risk to take.

There are many angles to take here, and I was hoping to get some different 
perspectives from my fellow guides. Esp. since nothing is set in stone until 
the dice roll. Ideas all?
