Re: [BNW] Trait Bonuses
Hey there,
You need to watch your posts to the listserv - this is how html/rtf format
looks in the digest versions. Semicolons provided by me.
;<x-html><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
;<HTML><HEAD>
;<META content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" http-equiv=Content-Type>
;<META content="MSHTML 5.00.2614.3500" name=GENERATOR>
;<STYLE></STYLE>
;</HEAD>
;<BODY bgColor=#ffffff>
;<DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>What experience point cost would you
;assign to a +1 to a Trait roll?</FONT></DIV>
;<DIV> </DIV>
;<DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>There is no option for it in the
rules,
;but I think it makes sense for the genre and characters should be
allowed
;to spend XP for it. My thought is 10 XP/total plusses you
will
;have on the trait (10 XP for the first +1, 20 XP for the second, 30 for the
;third . . . ) instead if a flat rate per plus. The effectiveness of
the
;bonus goes up with each additional plus you get (as opposed to buying
extra dice
;for the stat where, while your potential does go up with every additional
die
;you have, it goes up by smaller and smaller increments the more dice you
;have).</FONT></DIV>
;<DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2></FONT> </DIV>
;<DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>Yes, this is obscenely high but,
;remember, you are getting the plus(ses) on every die roll you make with the
;Trait. This will make it daunting and cost-prohibitive to have more
than a
;+2 with any Trait - - which is about all I would consider a 'reasonable' and
;not-unbalancing bonus anyway.</FONT></DIV>
;<DIV> </DIV>
;<DIV><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=2>Thoughts, suggestions or
;opinions?</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML>
;</x-html>
